The Focus bike rides like no other. For all who are unfamiliar with Focus, the Focus Izalco Max was once the coveted bike of the year. This bike looks totally ordinary, but rides in an extraordinary fashion. No exaggeration of any sorts.
I’ve not heard many in Singapore riding Focus. I did my research and found out that Izalco max is being raced in Tour de France. Hence, it can’t be that bad bike a bike. I was skeptical as I have no common friends riding this.
When I took the bike, I took it out for a spin. My goodness, unrivaled performance. Stiff, accelerates instantaneously, climbs well, able to hold speed. Even with my very low profile wheels, getting and staying at 40kmh was very doable.
Climbing Faber, Pepys, Telok Blangah and a few others popular climbing spots in Singapore was just pure joy. On century rides, whether using Km or miles, very comfortable. This bike will not break your back during long rides.
In my personal opinion, a very underrated bicycle, maybe because of the look. But in terms of ride quality and performance, you will not be disappointed.
A 10/10 for this bicycle in terms of performance!
